On this page, you’ll find a growing series of documents developed through Workers’ Voice, a project driven by people with lived experience of Australia’s workers’ compensation systems.
These workers have navigated the complexities of injury, recovery, and return to work, and are now helping to identify solutions that could make the system fairer, simpler, and more supportive for all.
As each document of the series is released, it will be added below, offering a unique window into the experiences and insights of injured workers across Australia.
Each document begins with a short problem statement describing the issue faced by injured workers, followed by practical, experience-driven solutions designed to improve outcomes and system fairness.
Through extensive consultation with the Workers’ Voice Lived Experience Advisory Group, seven key areas for improvement were identified:
